Latrobe Regional Health (LRH), located 160km east of Melbourne at Traralgon West, is recognised as the regional provider of specialist health services in Gippsland. The hospital provides multidisciplinary care for a population of over 300,000 people. Our catchment covers approx. 42,000 square kilometres from Phillip Island to Mallacoota in the far east of Victoria.
The Research and Clinical Trials Unit was officiated in July 2019 with the vision to provide care closer to home for regional communities. Development of an organisational wide clinical trial framework has seen rapid growth in trial capacity; the hospital has subsequently opened over 60 clinical trials several of which run under community orientated (i.e., teletrial) models.
