Venue Access

The venue for APHC 2026 is the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre - 80 Western Beach Rd, Geelong VIC 3220.

Getting there

By air

  • Fly directly into Avalon Airport from Sydney, Brisbane, or the Gold Coast with Jetstar, just a 20-minute drive to Geelong. Choose from car, taxi, shuttle bus, or car hire, with MyBus Geelong offering shuttle services to and from the airport.

  • Alternatively, Melbourne Tullamarine Airport provides regular domestic and international flights. Just an hour's drive to Geelong, you can also:

    • Use the Express Airport Skybus that will get you to the Melbourne Southern Cross Station where you can catch a train to Geelong (see "By Rail" below)

    • Book transfers through Gull Airport Service, which also offers VIP services and coach charters.

  • Delegates will have a possibility to book a seat on a charter bus to go back to the Melbourne Tullamarine airport at the end of the conference - please note there is a cost associated and seats are limited. Details are available through the registration process.

By rail

  • Enjoy a relaxing train ride with regular V/Line services connecting Melbourne and Geelong Station (closest to the venue). Plan your journey with the PTV Journey Planner

    • Going from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to the Geelong Station takes approx. 1h05 to 1h20.

    • Trains stop at Geelong Station, just a 10-minute walk (700m) from the venue. Walk along Brougham and Gheringhap Streets towards the Main Entrance on Western Beach Road.

    • Please be mindful there are 2 other train stations in Geelong (Geelong North and Geelong South) but those are further away from the venue.

By road

  • Parking at Nyaal Banyul:

  • Taxi and ride share drop off and pick up zones will be located on Western Beach Road and Smythe Street.

  • A variety of bus routes will be available depending on your departure point. Use the PTV Journey Planner to identify the best option.

  • Coach pick-up and drop-off bays will be located outside the Main Entrance on Western Beach Road, accommodating up to three coaches at a time.

  • Accessible seating options, including spaces for wheelchairs, companions, and wider seats

  • Male, female, gender-neutral and accessible bathrooms throughout the venue

  • Changing Places facility near the ground floor Corio Bay entrance

  • Guide dogs and other registered assistance animals welcome in all areas

  • Hearing augmentation loops

  • High contrast signage for the visually impaired

  • Multi-faith prayer room, parents' room and sensory room on Level 1

  • Wide paths, natural light, rest seating and drinking fountains

The venue is also part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network.

When you register to attend the conference, you will get a chance to indicate what your accessibility requirements are and our Events Team commits to doing their best to accommodate. 

Please note, complimentary wheelchairs are available for use within the venue. For us to arrange booking of one, please indicate that you need one via the "Accessibility Requirements" section in our registration form.
